ABOUT

This is a short Halloween special side game of Prototype N! It is a completed game with 6 levels and a major boss fight. Featuring returning new and old enemies along with all brand new 6 levels.

STORY

One day, Nadine and her friends, Clara and Selena, decided to go to a halloween party. On their way, they end up in another world! Will they get themselves out of this situation?

Fortunately for the trio, Nadine, the main protagonist, is an android who can shoot and slide her way through various challenges.

This game takes place a few months after the events of Prototype N.

GAMEPLAY

Just like the main game it's spun off from, it is a side scrolling shooting platformer. Nadine, the player character, has a limited loadout of weapons. Special weapons found throughout the levels can help Nadine deal with enemies easier. Alongside, there are are shields available from Clara's shop. They can help Nadine by shielding herself from damage and grant unique passive abilities.

Each level has several kind of collectables such as health pick ups, ammo refills, and Gems! Gems are this game's currency which you can use to buy Weapons and Shields in Shops found throughout the World Map.

Another collection are DataChips, which are permament collectables. Most stages has 3 of them to collect. There are 15 (as of launch) in total.

CHARACTERS

Nadine (Android)

The main protagonist of the game. When the situation gets dire, she is equipped with weapons and abilities to take down evil foes. She doesn't talk very much.

Clara (Human)
Age: 25

The shopkeeper and Nadine's closest friend. She, along with her sister, found Nadine in an inactive state on one fateful day. She is responsible for selling items that helps Nadine on her adventure. Clara sees Nadine as more than a friend.

Selena (Human)
Age: 21

The mechanic and Clara's younger sister. Her incredibly impressive knowledge on machines allows her to build weapons and shields to assist Nadine in her adventures. She is a big fan of lesser known video games and even owns a plush of several characters from them.

Jack O' Diamonds (????)

The antagonist of the game. He had sent the trio into a realm he has created. So much of his realm and even the strange entity himself is a mystery that may never get solved. He appears to be mechnical but also has magic powers, something not seen in Nadine's world.

Controller is not working for me :s

(3 edits)

Did you plug it in before or after booting the game? If after, try turning off the game and turn it back on after the controller is connected. Clickteam Fusion games (and many other games sadly) has the odd quirk of not recognizing a controller that's been plugged mid-game.

If that doesn't work, is it okay to ask which controller is it? My goal is to ensure every controller can be detected.

I was going to buy this, but when I went to do so the only option was paypal.

I tried and liked the demos for both this game and Project N.

I wanna see if there is a way to allow more than Paypal on Itch.

There! Credit Card should be an option now! Sorry for that, I'm still kind of new to itch payment stuff lol

thank you

Let me know if it works! I'm gonna make an announcement if people are able to make purchases w/o paypal.

I tried to buy it but when i pressed the buy button it didn't work and I'm pretty sure it said there was a problem with my accounts connection

however I was able to buy some soundeffects right after so I don't know what the problem is

I'll look into this. Seems to be something on my end. Someone else is having a similar issue.

PLAY THE FUNNY HALLOWEEN GAME it has great everything and is super fun, give Arri your cash money for a good time

A super fun, very cute, well designed, and fairly challenging experience!  A fun example of Mega Man X like gameplay!  I greatly enjoyed the broom segments, and level design (especially with the heavy skulls and cannonballs)

Very good, I enjoy. The art is very cute and good, and the gameplay is a nice amount of challenge that controls very well. It's also gay

This is such a fun Halloween experience! The level design is just as challenging and clever as it is in the Prototype N demo, but all are now Halloween themed! There's even a wonderful homage to a certain game that you can see in the screenshots... that level was a LOT of fun! The enemies are super, super cute, especially the little cat-earred ghosts! And the music is great, matching the spooky levels perfectly. Stage 5's music is a real standout here. Just thinking about it makes me want to listen to the OST again!

In short, this is a wonderful, bite-sized MegaMan-esque Halloween treat. Great job to Arri and her team!

Awesome job on this game, the level design is really creative and I love the final boss. I had a blast playing this, huge props to everyone who worked on this!
