v1.2 Will be live tonight


Hello all! Thank you for playing my game! There is a huge patch coming tonight that addresses many bugs along aside updating visuals and gameplay enhancements.

v1.2 (Nov-2-23)

Gameplay Changes

-Shields now have 2HP and an indicator when they're at 1HP left. (As a result, the descriptions for each have been adjusted)

-Hitting a checkpoint keeps a record of your level's gems and score count. Upon dying, you gain back all but half of the gems and score. It stacks each death to avoid cheating the score system. Gems and points accumulated *after* the last checkpoint do not count.

-Toxic shields now protects you up to 4 times in poisonous liquids.

Level Design Changes

-Adjust the first autoscrolling area a bit in Specter Shipyard.

-Redesigned Specter Shipyard's sinking ship segment.

-Slightly sped up falling platform respawn time in Creepy Canopy.

-Added more gems in Freaky Flight

-Gambling Gallery's pool ball segment now has an extra safety platform to reduce confusion.

-Treasure room added in Gambling Gallery

-Certain dice block jumps are now a bit more forgiving in Gambling Gallery and Desolate Dungeon.

-Checkpoints in various levels have been adjusted to balance around the changes to the penalties around dying.

Visual Changes

-World Map now has an ghost ship sprite to represent Specter Shipyard.

-World Map pause menu now says "QUIT TO MENU" while in-game pause menus now say "QUIT TO MAP".

-The life icon's heart changes into the icon of whatever shield you are currently using.

-Treasure Chests no longer explode when you shoot them. Instead they open themselves to give you the item.

-Treasure Chests also now have a new sprite to fit with the game's style more.

-Specter Shipyard's wall tile placements have all been adjusted for consistency.

-Corrected minor issue with the name "Cursed Canopy" to "Creepy Canopy" in the world map and results screen.

-Curtains in Gambling Gallery is no longer transparent to avoid trivializing the level design.

-Added a ton of new detail to Desolate Dungeon's walls such as torches, various brick tiles and chains.

-Button for the Curtains now has animation.

-Curtain paralax now scrolls properly.

-Neon signs has been added in Gambling Gallery, as well as a Welcome sign in Freaky Flight.

-Walls in Gambling Gallery has more variety past the 2nd room.

-Fixed various typos.

Bug Fixes

-Fixed UI bug where the talk prompt shows up during dialog.

-Fixed Menu UI visual bug in the World Map where it displayed a blank 3rd option.

-Fixed more warp ladder bugs in the Specter Shipyard where messing with the controls will inevitably break the warping event.

-Fixed softlock in Specter Shipyard's sinking segments by making the death pit trigger occuring sooner.

-Fixed softlock where taking a hit and immediately falling into the pit death trigger doesn't kill you during the vertical autoscrolling segments.

-You can no longer shoot while dead in Freaky Flight.

-Fix softlock bug in Gambling Gallery concerning a camera trigger in the small room with falling dices.

-Fixed bug where fire shield protects you in poisonous liquids.

-Fixed bug where you get hit by being near the gem during the pool ball phase at the boss. (Pool ball had a brief invisible moment spawned on the gem before teleporting to its right spot)

-You no longer are able to jump into the pool ball pipes.

Misc

-Re-ordered some songs in the sound test along with renaming a few to indicate they're from Prototype N's base game.
